“Our guide, Lucian David, was good, amusing commentary. Transport was in a comfortable 20 seater minibus. First stop was Rousse, pleasant but nothing special. The church in Arbanasi was well worth seeing, amazing frescoes and good views, would have liked some free time as village was beautiful. Excellent pizza restaurant for lunch in Vileko Taranova and stunning views all around the town. A good walk up to the fortress, definitely worth doing for amazing views and surprisingly modern frescoes in the church. All in all a great day and good value.”

“The trip was well organised, Gabriel the driver contacted the night before to confirm details for pick up, and was very clear on all directions and information for the entire trip. First two stops (monastery and fortress) were well worth seeing and visiting but the last stop was a waste of time and money (museum was expensive for basically nothing). Lots of walking required so have good shoes.”

“It's a good trip but it's a heck of a long time on the road and we experienced a very slow border crossing in the morning.One of the three places we had booked to see was closed across December, due to the cold weather, so should never have been part of the offer at this time of year. (Our guide did take us to see the outside).Other two places were interesting, well presented by our guide. Our guide for the day, Christi, was very friendly, thoughtful helpful and upbeat and looked after us really well.”

“Such an unpleasant experience that I’m not even sure where to begin. As we neared the Bulagarian border, our guide, Valerica, “needed to share something” and said he “is not our guide, only our driver and friend.” This seemed weird but the reasons became obvious through the the day. First, this was a lie he wanted us to all join in on so he didn’t have to pay entrance fees as the sites. Second, he had never been to 2 of the 3 sites we visited, which means he did not know where to park or where to enter/exit. This was most disturbing at Tsarnavets, where he became very frustrated…”
